Emerging Artist Canvas Print

The idea of this painting is unusual for me. Guess, it came from my interaction with young, struggling artists – visitors of my recent art–exhibit, many of whom were seeking advice of how to "emerge". Wish, I knew... it's such a tough subject. so, I kept thinking about this for awhile and then captured an image that came to mind.

This figurative abstract painting depicts this image that symbolizes a process of maturing and finding clarity in one's creative vision and unique language of self-expression, of finding own artistic style and audience, of becoming a professional artist. The image of a young woman, emerging from the foggy, cloudy substance, only parts of her clearly visible. She's surrounded by random patches of color piercing through that fog. The colors gradually becoming clearer, bolder, consistent, gaining structure, texture and coherency, as they move toward the other side of the painting. The woman looks into this direction. My bio in a nutshell... Born in the former USSR, where I majored in music (Masters degree in Musicology) and freelanced as an illustrator. Emigrated to the USA in 1976. Learned computer programming and made my living working in the corporate IT world (mostly, on Wall St.) since the early 80s. Also, freelanced as an illustrator, took part in several art exhibitions during this period. Relocated to PA in 2005. Currently, I reside in Churchville, (Bucks Co.) with my husband and two cats. I paint, illustrate, design and give private art lessons. I exhibit and sell my artwork (mostly, online), as well as work on commission.
