The subject is pretty self-explanatory. Through the use of traditional elements and vivid colors I wanted to convey to the viewers the very special, celebratory side of Shabbat. I'd hope that by looking at this artwork people experience as much joy as I did while painting it!
The painting is done in my trademark style, which I call "Stained Glass on Canvas". The painting is much richer in colors and texture than on a photographic image, which is unable to capture all nuances and show dimensional effects of stained glass. The image continues around the boarders, so the painting can be used either framed or unframed.
The painting is a signed original and comes with COA. As such the image is copyrighted and can only be reproduced with written artist's permission.
My bio in a nutshell... Born in the former USSR, where I majored in music (Masters degree in Musicology) and freelanced as an illustrator. Emigrated to the USA in 1976. Learned computer programming and made my living working in the corporate IT world (mostly, on Wall St.) since the early 80s. Also, freelanced as an illustrator, took part in several art exhibitions during this period. Relocated to PA in 2005. Currently, I reside in Churchville, (Bucks Co.) with my husband and two cats. I paint, illustrate, design and give private art lessons. I exhibit and sell my artwork (mostly, online), as well as work on commission.
