This is one of my abstract fluid paintings, created on canvas using poured acrylic paints & media. I’m truly impressed by how amazing this painting technique is. The process of creating is almost magical, as lines, shapes and colors flow, move, mix, morph, fuse together, appear to form and rearrange before one’s eyes, seemingly by itself, resembling the great Walt Disney’s masterpiece “Fantasia”. There’s great deal of creative freedom and spontaneity in this process and the results can be highly unpredictable and surprising. Still, there’s some preparation (selection of colors, pre–mix, etc) and some tweaking/ paint manipulation in a number of different ways along the way is required from an artist. And every painting comes out completely unique: no two are alike.
At this stage, I like using this fluid painting technique in combination with some others and as such techniques and tools (sticks, etc) to move and manipulate the image, following the spirit movement...
My bio in a nutshell... Born in the former USSR, where I majored in music (Masters degree in Musicology) and freelanced as an illustrator. Emigrated to the USA in 1976. Learned computer programming and made my living working in the corporate IT world (mostly, on Wall St.) since the early 80s. Also, freelanced as an illustrator, took part in several art exhibitions during this period. Relocated to PA in 2005. Currently, I reside in Churchville, (Bucks Co.) with my husband and two cats. I paint, illustrate, design and give private art lessons. I exhibit and sell my artwork (mostly, online), as well as work on commission.
